3”x3” mosaic With shells and scrap stained glass. The glass was a favorite piece that was a “mistake” as there were errors on the glazing but it’s beautiful. This was a tough week with travel for work. I remained inspired but finding time was a struggle.

The start of a 3”x3” mosaic of shells (so far). As I previously posted, today and tomorrow would be challenging because I am traveling for work. I brought just a few things along with me that didn’t need any cutting. So I knew it would just be the beginning. But it’s still meant that I spent some time being creative. I plan to finish once I get back home and into my studio.

Start of week 2. I’ve been avoiding greens as it is my favorite color and “go to” colors for many of my projects to continue to push the envelope. We’ll see how long that lasts.

Another challenge this week is that part of the time I’m traveling for work and can’t bring tools with me. So am thinking about that and trying to figure out what I can bring with me to stay with mosaics. Please stay tuned.

I am intending to jump in and participate in the #100dayproject2026. This shows some of my work space prepping 3”x3”x1/4” wood substraight for mosaic artwork.My personal challenge beside committing to making small artworks each day for the 100 days that starts tomorrow (2.22.26) is to focus on abstract works and to try and use scrap pieces or dig deep and find treasures I’ve forgotten I have. You know us mosaic artists forage and accumulate!! This will also help me post more in Instagram. Stay tuned!

Last night was the reception for “Line Work” and “NAA Staff’’ exhibit at Newburyport Art Association. It was a wonderful reception filled with lovely art AND amazing poetry readings by our poet in residence and about 8 amazing Newburyport High School students who are poets and spoke their poems. So inspiring.! The exhibit runs until the end of February.

On a separate note the piece I submitted was sold! Thank you to the patron who made that purchase and supported NAA and me as a local artist.

My outdoor mosaics are surviving the New England winter so far. The larger image one has been outside for a couple of years. The smaller image …it’s the first year for that one.

Currently in the gallery is a #mosaicart show. I had the pleasure is seeing in person some artists I follow @mazzonimosaics and @lauramckellarmosaics All of the work was amazing and just beautiful.
